About The Position

The SST Associate Scientist I shall assist other SST Laboratory personnel in general lab duties. The SST Associate Scientist I shall be responsible for ensuring quality and accurate data in a timely fashion. This role involves communicating effectively internally and externally, working cooperatively, and proposing and communicating process improvements for technical areas. The position requires participation in general laboratory maintenance, ensuring quality and accurate data in a timely fashion in all processes in a given area, and following work instructions to direct sample flow for efficiency. The Associate Scientist I will perform sample analysis and document results, participate in lab and equipment maintenance, and communicate inventory needs to appropriate staff. They will also communicate sample/test issues to the appropriate responsible manager and identify and report any opportunities to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and quality. The role requires performing assigned tasks according to company procedures and work instructions in the most cost-effective way. The Associate Scientist I will ensure ALL goals are met for the day and encourage others to meet their goals as well. They will perform evaluation tests according to work instructions and follow AOSA, Canada, or ISTA rules depending on testing requested. Tasks are performed as defined by the lab manager. The individual must be able to drive the process and motivate individuals to get the work done, ensuring the consistent and repeatability of results in a timely fashion. They will propose and communicate process improvements for planting and/or evaluation, and be able to evaluate TZ Tests (both Post Germ and straight TZ Tests). Maintaining appropriate inventory and organizing supplies is also a key responsibility. Based on years of experience, the Associate Scientist I may guide or assist newer staff with questions and direct newer staff in the right direction if the answer to a question is unknown. Ensuring accurate and efficient execution of work instructions and minimizing mistakes are crucial. A reliable work schedule is expected. During the months of October through March, there may be a request to work at least 45 hours per week to assist the lab manager in maintaining the SST lab.

Requirements
