Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor – Isotope Production, the associate scientist will execute testing in the Quality Control laboratory which supports RayzeBio’s Isotope Production process in Indianapolis. This position will conduct inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process controls, and finished products, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulatory standards. Specifically, the Associate Scientist will support the release of isolated isotopes manufactured at RayzeBio in support of clinical and commercial drug programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with 0–3 years of experience in analytical chemistry, radiochemistry, or a related field.
  • Highly motivated and organized professional with the ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with sample preparation and general bench chemistry techniques
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent professional ethics, integrity, and ability to maintain confidential information
  • Uses AI tools to enhance individual productivity and quality of work

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, quality systems and documentation practices (e.g., GMP, ISO) is preferred.
  • Experience or training in a laboratory environment utilizing Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine analyses according to validated/verified methods to support RayzeBio isotope production.
  • Record data and analyze results quickly and accurately to ensure timely completion of final product testing and release.
  • Assist in the development, review, and continuous improvement of laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and related documents.
  • Execute, document, and close out records with attention to detail, ensuring appropriate recordkeeping is maintained.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and investigations of analytical issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Assist in the routine calibration and maintenance of all laboratory equipment and materials.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate documentation, particularly data analysis.
  • Participate in and support instrument qualification, calibration, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP regulations, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
  • Partner with the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) to ensure laboratory compliance with radiation safety programs.
  • Provide technical support to other teams or business units as required.
  • Review laboratory data and documentation to support timely disposition and release of isotope production batches.
