About The Position

The qualified candidate will join the Analytical R&D organization in Andover, MA, to enable development of biological therapeutics. Within Analytical R&D, the candidate will join the Bioassay and Impurity Sciences Group and focus on monoclonal antibodies, fusion proteins, peptides, and other biological modalities. The group develops analytical methodologies and strategies needed to progress biotherapeutic products in the pipeline, which include method development, qualification, transfer, validation, sample testing, process support, formulation and stability support, and product characterization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in biology, biochemistry, immunology, biotechnology, or related discipline.
  • 0-2 years of experience working with biological molecules, mammalian cell culture, and performing cell-based assays and/or immunoassays.
  • Proven record of delivering results in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication to project teams.
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to extract relevant information from scientific literature.
  • Ability to accurately record observations, facts, data, and conclusions during experimental work.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Permanent work authorization in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial experience and an understanding of the drug development process are desired.
  • Knowledge of GMP is desired.
  • Experience with laboratory data management systems is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Performing and maintaining immunoassay and cell-based assay methods for a broad range of biotherapeutics for early and late-stage products.
  • Executing, documenting, reporting, and reviewing lab work according to GMP practices.
  • Authoring, reviewing, and revising test methods and technical reports.
  • Interacting effectively with multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Tabulating data and providing data interpretation to teams and customers.
  • Applying knowledge and skill to increase productivity, breadth, and depth, and to troubleshoot technical problems with minimal supervision.
  • Contributing to the achievement of the immediate work group’s goals.
  • Collaborating with other team members.
  • Working closely with analytical experts and project teams to provide timely support for process and product development in the form of quality data which can be used in support of regulatory documentation of investigational new drug and biologic license applications.
  • Assisting in the maintenance and renewal of laboratory instruments, systems or apparatus.
  • Assisting in the maintenance and continuous improvement of safe and effective working practices.
