About The Position

Under the direction of the Sanitation Manager and/or Quality Manager, the employee will be responsible for the establishment and implementation of sanitation and pest control programs applicable to the Granite City facility per Kraft Heinz standards. More specifically, this function primarily oversees the sanitation programs of the Capri, KAB, Pouch, and Processing Departments as well as general housekeeping activities throughout the facility such as Janitorial and Infrastructure Cleaning. As directed, the employee can support other areas and functions as needed, including but not limited to directly leading the routine sanitation activities of the Capri Departments.

Responsibilities

  • Overall Execution of Sanitation and Pest Control Programs
  • Partner with sanitation and quality supervisors to oversee, manage, and train hourly sanitation team members
  • Coordinate the completion and evaluate the effectiveness of day-to-day routine, critical, and periodic cleaning activities as required by the site Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Provide leadership and guidance for sanitation and pest control program requirements as required by Kraft Heinz KHMS, Golden Rules, and other applicable standards (e.g., Global Cleaning and Sanitation Manuals, Pest Control Standard, Hygienic Design Standards, Building and Fabric Maintenance Standards)
  • Support internal and external audits of site quality, sanitation, and pest control programs, including but not limited to Kraft Heinz audits and assessments (e.g., KHMS & Golden Rules Assessments), 3rd party audits (e.g., FSSC), and regulatory inspections (e.g., Kosher & FDA)
  • Create, maintain, and update sanitation ways of working and documentation, including but not limited to site Standard Operating Procedures, area specific Work Instructions, Forms/Documents, and Trainings/One Point Lessons
  • Monitor and ensure proper concentration of sanitation chemicals per each chemical’s product label, including but not limited to chemicals used during routine cleaning activities and those used for routine sanitizing of product contact surfaces. Can perform titrations and basic troubleshooting of stationary foamers and mixing stations intended for these chemicals to ensure the proper concentration
  • Evaluation of Sanitation Processes and Procedures
  • Support and execute the completion of risk assessments and annual reviews as required by Kraft Heinz KHMS, and Golden Rules requirements aimed at continuous improvement of overall sanitation and pest control programs at the Granite City facility
  • Perform observations of the sanitation procedures to ensure adherence to ways of working and compliance with sanitation program requirements.
  • Assist in the development and completion of action items to address non-compliances and/or opportunities for improvement in sanitation specific activities.
  • Coordinate and perform CIP verification and validation activities in the review of Clean in Place procedures to ensure effectiveness and compliance/adherence to Kraft Heinz CIP requirements.
  • Assist in the development and completion of action items to address non-compliances and/or opportunities for improvement in these activities
  • Can execute and support ATP, Clean Equipment, and Environmental Monitoring programs.
  • Assist in the development and completion of action items to address Red Alerts and/or other non-compliances and opportunities for improvement in these activities
  • Observe and evaluate the effectiveness of these activities and provide feedback to employees to provide opportunities for improvement
  • Sanitation Record Review
  • Ensure proper documentation of routine, critical, periodic, and janitorial cleaning activities as identified by the site Master Sanitation Schedule, Maintenance Work Schedules, Janitorial, and other housekeeping needs
  • Perform review and ensure proper documentation of Clean Equipment Tags, Post Sanitation & Start Up Inspection forms, Drain Cleaning forms, Chemical Titrations/chemical checks, and other required sanitation documents
  • Maintain proper documentation of other sanitation requirements as needed, including but not limited to passivation records and CIP manuals
  • Maintain, monitor, and report all site specific and corporate directed sanitation key performance indicators to ensure compliance with food safety requirements and sanitation improvement opportunities
  • Inventory Management
  • Perform inventory management of janitorial supplies, sanitation supplies, and other assigned supplies as needed
  • Perform inventory management of sanitation chemicals including but not limited to drum, tote, and bulk chemicals
  • Routinely inspect and maintain sanitation cage, supply storage areas, and sanitation tools to ensure inventory, housekeeping, labeling, and working condition of all sanitation supplies
  • Other Activities
  • Can support swabbing, testing, and plate readings for all cleaning activities, environmental monitoring activities, and non-routine testing needs, including but not limited to Red Alerts, investigations, and construction activities
  • Can support non-routine sanitation and pest control needs, such as Duct Cleaning and locker fogging activities as needed
  • Perform other quality audits and performance monitoring activities as needed, including but not limited to GMP audits, Golden Rules audits, and standard audits
  • Utilize time keeping tools and manage employee clock in and clock out activities needed to ensure correct employee pay and attendance point totals
  • Can act as an accountable person assigned Kraft Heinz KHMS, Golden Rules, and other applicable standards
  • Can support weekend supervisor coverage during designated shifts
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required outside of the scope of this job description
