About The Position

The Associate Sample Coordinator performs duties and training to acquire the skills required for sample and standard handling in support of the laboratory. The role supports Sample Coordinators and carries out administrative tasks in the Sample Management department. The position requires following SOPs and applicable client procedures and fulfilling laboratory requests with modest direct supervision. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on the first shift, at the Covington, Kentucky location.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Time-management skills.
Ability to maintain detailed tracking and documentation clearly and accurately according to SOP.
Written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people.
Ability to work upright and stationary and/or stand for typical working hours.
Ability to lift and move objects weighing 15 to 40 pounds.
Ability to work in non-traditional work environments.
Ability to use and learn standard office equipment and technology.
Ability to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities.

Responsibilities

Perform simple inventory tracking procedures, including receipt, check-in, login, labeling, inventory, transport, and check-out.
Perform administrative tasks in support of laboratory operations.
Communicate task status to a supervisor and/or appropriate laboratory staff.
Train on SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and storage requirements.
Support responses to environmental unit alarms and potentially participate in on-call responsibilities.
Complete daily work assignments accurately, on time, and safely.
On first shift, participate in initial receipt of boxes and process individual samples using Laboratory Information Management System accessioning screens.
