About The Position

ProSidian seeks an Associate Safety & Health Specialist for Program Support on a SCA – Service Contract Act / Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) Basis for Working On-Site (Client Site) in The Southeast | South Atlantic | CONUS Area (Aiken, South Carolina). This is a Contract Contingent role, generally located across the Aiken, South Carolina region, supporting a High-hazard nuclear cleanup environment requiring disciplined staffing, safety, quality, security, and regulatory compliance. The role is aligned with GSA Labor Category: Environmental Specialist Level I and is principally focused on ProSidian Strategic Resourcing and Professional Staff Augmentation for Safety and Health (Safety) Solutions and Services. Candidates with relevant Nuclear And Environmental Management Sector Experience are sought to support professional services engagement for clients such as SRMC. This position may convert to a Full-Time ProSidian employed W-2 Position. The Environmental Specialist Level I role(s) are located in the Southeast | South Atlantic | CONUS Region, at or near Aiken, South Carolina. The role provides services and support as a Associate Safety & Health Specialist aligned with the Safety and Health (Safety) Functional Area / Swim Lane / Category Discipline in the Nuclear And Environmental Management Industry Sector. This role focuses on Human Capital | Project Management | Engineering | Environmental | Compliance | Risk Management | IT Effectiveness | Business Process | Training Knowledge Management Solutions for clients such as Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC (SRMC) | SRMC Supply Chain / Procurement supporting the Liquid Waste Program. The position is generally located in Aiken, South Carolina and across the Southeast | South Atlantic | CONUS Region, working On-Site (Client Site). The role provides Safety and Health (Safety) Services and Solutions as a ProSidian Engagement Team Member, supporting workplace safety activities through planning, analysis, coordination, documentation, compliance, quality assurance, and stakeholder support. The goal is to prevent harm by finding hazards early, strengthening controls, investigating events, and reinforcing safe work in the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with previous internships in the field of Safety and Health preferred OR; Associates degree and 2+ years related experience OR; High school diploma/GED and 4+ years related experience

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Safety is a primary responsibility in each job performed.
  • Obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task.
  • Take necessary steps to stop work if continuing the activity is unsafe or will create and unsafe condition.
  • Accepts delegated technical responsibility of limited scope within the Safety and Health (S&H) Program.
  • Under close supervision, evaluates proposals and makes recommendations based on proposed Project s/tasks.
  • Educates, observes, and ensures all personnel are performing work in compliance to all company S&H policy and procedures.
  • Performs basic practices of occupational S&H by anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling occupational hazards in the workplace through assisting with job scopes reviews, walk downs, and general observations.
  • Assists with investigations of accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in assigned area.
  • Assists with assessments and supports emergency response drills as assigned by management.
  • Attends Local Safety Improvement Team (LSIT) meetings.
  • Applies basic knowledge and understanding of OSHA requirements to assist in the safety of work activities within assigned area.
  • Familiarizes with company safety and health programs, systems, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and investigates workplace activities and potential hazards to support company initiatives within assigned area or facility (s) through review of work packages, assessments, walk downs, and/or observations.
  • Identifies hazardous workplace conditions and removes hazards and/or protects employees by guarding, revising work procedures, and training or requiring use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment.
  • Responsible for identifying and mitigating hazardous conditions that affect workers, property, the environment, and the general public.
  • Takes effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal, state, local and organization occupational safety and health standards, ensuring that all required records are prepared and maintained.
  • Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and in any procedures that may follow a citation.
  • Investigates, prepares, and forwards as required reports on injuries and fatalities.
