About The Position

Parsons is seeking an Associate Roadway Engineer to support regional and national infrastructure projects as part of its Critical Infrastructure team. Working under the supervision of a licensed engineer, the role supports roadway design and engineering work for transportation projects, collaborating with engineers and internal design groups. Requirements

Four-year degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
0 or more years of related work experience.
Basic process engineering knowledge.
Working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Prior internship experience.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate.
Familiarity with MicroStation, OpenRoads, and Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

Analyze and prepare roadway designs, calculations, and drawings for transportation projects using DOT and/or local jurisdiction criteria, under the supervision of a licensed engineer.
Assist in developing the geometric design of highways and roads, including horizontal and vertical geometry, cross sections, superelevation diagrams, details, vertical clearance calculations, and grading plans.
Develop 3D roadway models using OpenRoads or Civil 3D.
Assist with preparing technical engineering reports, contract documents, material quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and schedules for review by a licensed engineer.
Propose innovative solutions to design problems and approach tasks with an open mindset.
Manage timely completion of multiple assigned tasks.
Communicate effectively with team members and internal design groups, and communicate externally as required for assigned tasks.
