Associate RF Hardware Systems Engineer

Eridan•Sunnyvale, CA
•$120,000 - $145,000

About The Position

Eridan is hiring an early-career RF hardware systems engineer to work on its 5G radio products as part of the systems engineering team. The role involves hands-on laboratory work, including characterizing RF performance, bringing up boards, and debugging hardware issues. The engineer will own defined parts of the radio and take on broader system responsibilities as they develop. The position also contributes to RF subsystem design, verification against system requirements, cross-functional integration, production qualification, and automation of lab testing and data analysis.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on industry experience in RF hardware or RF systems engineering.
  • Working knowledge of RF signal chains, including LNAs, PAs, mixers, filters, and PLLs, and RF performance metrics such as gain, noise figure, linearity, and EVM.
  • Experience with schematic capture and familiarity with RF PCB layout practices such as impedance control and grounding.
  • Hands-on experience using RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and signal generators for board bring-up and debugging.
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to ask questions, share findings, and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship or visa transfers.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to 5G or LTE radio hardware, including O-RAN, small cell, or macro radio; cellular TDD/FDD systems; or 3GPP specifications.
  • Experience with RF simulation tools such as Keysight ADS or Cadence AWR.
  • Scripting experience in Python, MATLAB, or C# for test automation and data analysis.
  • Understanding of communications theory.
  • Experience at a startup or growth-stage hardware company.

Responsibilities

  • Bring up new boards, conduct RF characterization and validation, and debug issues at the board and subsystem level.
  • Support schematic and PCB development for RF subsystems, including transceiver chains, impedance-controlled layout, and power distribution.
  • Help define test plans, conduct measurements, and report results against system requirements for 5G radio products.
  • Work with hardware, firmware, software, and Test teams to clarify requirements and resolve integration issues.
  • Support design reviews and qualification to prepare products for volume manufacturing.
  • Write scripts to accelerate laboratory testing and data analysis.

Benefits

  • Pre-IPO equity
  • 401(k) with automatic match
