About The Position

Schneider Downs Wealth Management Advisors (SDWMA), an affiliate of Schneider Downs, is a Registered Investment Advisor specializing in investment advisory services and personal financial planning for high-net-worth individuals, as well as investment advisory service to retirement plans, including investment menu design and oversight, investment analysis, financial planning, and general education for retirement plan participants. As an Associate Retirement Plan Advisor, you will be responsible for providing onsite advice, education, and enrollment assistance to our retirement plan clients, as well as communicate with designated plan sponsors representatives with respect to investment menu oversight, participant metrics, and coordinating employee and employer meetings. In this role, you will also provide support to the SDWMA Relationship Managers, including, but not limited to, the development of presentations, responding to client requests and inquiries, and research of investment vehicles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related field is required
  • Certified to work as an Investment Adviser Representative (Series 65 or 66), or the ability to successfully pass Series 65 or 66 within first, six months of employment is required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines
  • Able to communicate complex issues in easy-to-understand manner, and respond to client needs quickly
  • Local travel is required, and overnight travel may be necessary on a limited basis, depending on client assignment

Responsibilities

  • Conduct meetings with individual retirement plan participants for the purpose of providing retirement planning advice and education
  • Participate and present in retirement plan investment committee meetings
  • Identify employees eligible for plan participation and facilitate the delivery of retirement plan enrollment information and instructions
  • Maintain and update (as needed) retirement plan enrollment materials
  • Prepare quarterly investment due diligence reports
  • Generate reports and other documentation necessary for periodic retirement plan investment committee meetings
  • Draft retirement plan investment committee meeting minutes
  • Assist relationship managers with workload as needed to ensure standards are consistently met and maintained
