About The Position

The Associate Research Scientist will work in a fully grant-funded position advancing the goals and deliverables of the Gyori Lab for Computational Biomedicine’s funded projects. Within defined project objectives and timelines, the scientist will develop and implement computational methods and open-source scientific software in knowledge-grounded AI, systems modeling, natural language processing, and data harmonization. The role will also build domain-relevant applications to benchmark and showcase these methods, contribute to publications and presentations, and help guide graduate students and other junior team members. The position’s scope and continuation are tied to the objectives and duration of its associated grants. It reports to Benjamin Gyori, Associate Professor, and is based in Boston, Massachusetts. The Gyori Lab combines artificial intelligence with human expertise to accelerate scientific discovery. Its work includes knowledge-grounded AI, text mining and knowledge assembly, mathematical and systems modeling, and causal analysis, with results deployed as open-source software and services. Northeastern University describes Khoury College of Computer Sciences as committed to building a diverse and inclusive community and to its mission of “CS for Everyone.”
