We’re looking for an Associate Statistical Programmer who is well-versed in R to help us accomplish our mission to improve and extend lives by learning from the experience of every person with cancer. In this role, you will work as a member of the Research Sciences (RS) department, primarily supporting the Custom Solutions and Services (CSS) team within the Client Solutions organization. This team provides customized real-world data and real-world evidence solutions to address the most important research questions across clinical development, market access, and commercial use cases for our life sciences partners.

Requirements

• You hold a Doctorate degree (e.g., PhD, ScD, DrPH) in Biostatistics/Statistics with no industry experience, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Biological Sciences, Public Health, Math, or a closely related field, or a Master’s degree and 2 - 3 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in one of these fields with 4 - 5 years of relevant experience
• You are an excellent programmer in R (including tidyverse) and are comfortable working in Git-based environments (e.g., Github, Gitlab)
• You have experience with large healthcare-related datasets (e.g., administrative claims, electronic medical records)
• You have strong organizational, time-management, prioritization and decision-making skills necessary to evaluate, plan and implement multiple high-visibility projects in a timely fashion
• You have the ability to work effectively in a constantly changing, diverse, and matrix environment
• You are able to quickly learn and apply new information, skills and procedures
• You are passionate about our mission to improve healthcare through technology

Nice To Haves

• You have experience working with oncology datasets
• You have experience working in a pharmaceutical/HEOR consulting environment

Responsibilities

• Accurately translate analytic specifications from a statistical analysis plan into R code to create analytic datasets, generate descriptive and inferential statistics, and visualizations, etc, in consultation with the more senior programmers and/or study principal investigator
• Build subject matter expertise and discuss capabilities of a variety of different Flatiron data modalities, including EHR-derived real-world data, clinico-genomics data, and claims data
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders across our medical and scientific organization to execute and deliver on client-sponsored research studies in an accurate, effective, and timely manner
• Contribute to continuous improvement of Flatiron’s proprietary analytical tooling and templates
• Continue to develop a deeper understanding of real-world data and related methodologies used to generate real-world evidence
