About The Position

Support client service and business development efforts within Northern Trust Asset Management’s Global Family Office (GFO) Investment Practice. Associate Relationship Managers play a critical client-facing role, partnering closely with Investment Relationship Managers (IRMs) to support a designated client base and business development efforts. Help ensure client satisfaction by organizing and facilitating the efforts of Northern Trust Asset Management’s service team, engaging with portfolio management, product management, operations, reporting, and other key functions as needed. Serve as a key facilitator to ensure timely execution, issue resolution, and effective communication of client needs and priorities. Develop a deep understanding of each client’s investment objectives to help ensure alignment between client needs and Northern Trust solutions. Build and maintain strong relationships with family office executives, investment professionals, advisors, consultants, and other key stakeholders. Act as a trusted day-to-day resource by responding to inquiries, coordinating requests, facilitating reporting needs, and proactively identifying opportunities to add value. Develop and maintain knowledge of public and private market investment solutions, asset allocation frameworks, tax-aware investing approaches, portfolio construction, and industry trends affecting family offices. Participate in client and prospect meetings as needed, assisting with the preparation of presentation materials, investment reviews, and strategic discussions. Coordinate and prepare subject matter experts to support client conversations as needed. Lead the onboarding of new investment mandates and client relationships, ensuring a seamless implementation experience through coordination across internal stakeholders, consultants, custodians, and external advisors.

Requirements

  • Investment acumen: Ability to develop knowledge across a broad range of public and private asset class solutions, including key Northern Trust Asset Management capabilities, along with awareness of industry trends influencing family offices.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to build credibility and trust with sophisticated family office executives, investment committees, consultants, legal advisors, and other centers of influence.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems independently, and collaborate effectively across diverse internal teams.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to delivering a high-touch client experience.
  • A College or University degree and several years’ experience interacting with institutional investors or similar professional contacts.
  • Series 7 and 63 required or must be obtained within 90 days.
