About The Position

The Boeing Company is looking for an Associate Real-Time Software Engineer to join their Special Projects Dallas (SPD) P-8A Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) team in Richardson, TX. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. Software engineers at Boeing utilize their expertise to develop next-generation software capabilities for aerospace platforms. The SPD AAS team develops the mission systems software for the P-8A, enabling warfighters to perform mission and tactic planning, interface with the sensor, display sensor data, and replay missions. The team also enhances the P-8 Training system by adding simulations for fleet operator training on the AAS mission. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle development, including software engineering life-cycle design, development, integration, and maintenance support for P-8A AAS Mission Systems contracts.

Requirements

  • Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1+ years of experience in real-time software development
  • 1+ years of experience with development of Java or Linux Operating Systems
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 2+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years of directly related work experience OR 10+ years of related, relevant experience
  • Experience with development of OpenGL
  • Experience in AGILE/DevOps methodologies
  • Experience in Real-Time Algorithm implementation
  • Experience in Development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, interfaces and designs for software systems

Responsibilities

  • Partner with hardware, software, and systems engineering to design, develop, troubleshoot, and test P-8A AAS Mission Systems and Training Systems software.
  • Assist with the development, documentation, and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems.
  • Develop and maintain code and integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Assist with test procedures and document test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
