About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for an Associate Radio Frequency (RF) - Microwave Engineer (Level 2) to support the Space Electronics organization in El Segundo, California. As a RF/Microwave Engineer, you will develop RF modules on advanced phased array electronics for satellite payload products. You have an opportunity to work with Senior Engineering Teammates and Technical Leadership Experts to grow your skillset.

Requirements

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship as a condition of employment (A final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Post-Start is required)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of electronics, RF/microwave principles, theories, and test techniques
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

  • Knowledge in some, or all, of the following subjects: Electromagnetics and RF/Microwave theory, RF circuit design (active and passive), RF Gain-Loss budget of cascaded RF circuits/systems, Printed circuit board layout and design
  • Experience with design tools: AWR Microwave Office, HFSS, ADS

Responsibilities

  • Develops and designs RF printed wiring boards, and RF modules, for advanced phased array electronics for satellite payload products
  • Develops architectures to integrate systems and components into higher level systems and platforms
  • Creates and validates gain-loss budgets to understand RF performance over environmental conditions, life, and part-to-part variation
  • Performs trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements
  • Defines and conducts tests to validate performance of designs to requirements
  • Manages appropriate aspects of supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements
  • Provides support to products throughout lifecycle
