About The Position

Aerometals is looking to add an Associate Quality Engineer to their team. This role involves performing the day-to-day duties of the nonconformance (NC) process, including reviewing Customer Service Reports (CS) and Corrective Actions (CA). The engineer will create and distribute nonconformance reports (NCR), communicate with shop personnel to clarify root causes, and develop effective Root Cause Analysis using various methodologies. The position also includes communicating NCR results with internal and external interested parties, acting as a Material Review Board (MRB) Team member, assisting with nonconforming material cages, overseeing scrap parts, and participating in the AS9100 Quality Program. Other duties as required by the organization may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree – Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
  • Understanding of engineering data/drawings and ASME Y14.5M-1994 drawing standards.
  • Technical writing and report generation.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong technical communication abilities with external and internal parties.
  • Understanding of manufacturing and production processes and sequences.
  • 2 years’ experience in manufacturing – aerospace industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform the day-to-day duties of the nonconformance (NC) process, including potentially the review of Customer Service Reports (CS) and Corrective Actions (CA).
  • Create and distribute nonconformance reports (NCR) with applicable employees.
  • Communicate with shop personnel to clarify root causes, as necessary.
  • Develop effective Root Cause Analysis using various methodologies.
  • Communicate NCR results with internal and external interested parties.
  • Act as a Material Review Board (MRB) Team member.
  • Assist with nonconforming material cages.
  • Oversee scrap parts and ensure effective mutilation.
  • Participate in the AS9100 Quality Program.
  • Perform other duties as required by the organization.
