About The Position

HSBC is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as an Associate Project Manager within the IWPB Technology department. This role is responsible for overseeing the business portfolio, cost management, and data analytics projects, ensuring alignment with the bank’s strategic objectives. The Associate Project Manager will drive project initiatives for timely, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery, engage with IT, Business, and Functional teams, and understand business processes to recommend solutions. They will also support reporting, track project progress, and contribute to portfolio efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Solid IT understanding with Tech Background; exposure to Engineering.
  • Experience in portfolio management, project management, business analysis, or change management, ideally within banking or financial services.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Openness to learning is a must.
  • Great sense of ownership, attention to detail, delivery focus, and ability to meet aggressive timeframes with quality results.
  • Ability to interact and build relationships with Global, Regional and local stakeholders.
  • Excellent Excel and PPT skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data analytics tools and business intelligence platforms is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the business portfolio, cost management, and data analytics projects, ensuring alignment with the bank’s strategic objectives.
  • Work closely with Global and Regional counterparts to ensure alignment.
  • Drive project initiatives to ensure timely, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery, applying governance and quality principles throughout.
  • Partner closely with IT, Business, and Functional teams to align directives, scope, and deliverables.
  • Build strong relationships across all levels.
  • Understand business processes and requirements, perform analysis, and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and risks.
  • Support Delivery Lead in preparing portfolio reports, tracking project progress, and delivering actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Review resource strategy and help track and contribute to overall portfolio efficiencies.
