About The Position

SLS Consultants is seeking an Associate Project Manager to join its growing Data Center team in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The role supports delivery of electrical infrastructure for hyperscale data center campuses, with a focus on utility and campus substations. The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience constructing and commissioning substations and will oversee contractors, drive field execution, and support projects from construction through energization. Experience with high-voltage systems, relay protection schemes, switchgear, transformers, and Power Management Systems (PMS) is highly desirable.

Requirements

• Experience constructing, commissioning, or managing high-voltage substations.
• Strong understanding of relay protection systems and control schemes.
• Knowledge of switchgear, transformers, and Power Management Systems (PMS).
• Experience supporting utility, transmission, distribution, or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read electrical one-lines, protection drawings, and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of utility and campus substations serving hyperscale data center developments.
• Oversee field execution, contractor performance, and project progress through energization.
• Coordinate installation and commissioning of transformers, switchgear, and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Monitor relay protection, controls, and protection scheme implementation.
• Support commissioning activities for systems up to 345kV and medium-voltage distribution networks.
• Coordinate with utilities, contractors, engineers, and client stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate schedule, quality, and construction risks.
• Ensure compliance with project safety and quality standards.
