Apex is seeking an Associate Project Manager/Industrial Hygienist to be based in Bend, OR. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing building science, industrial hygiene, environmental health and safety, or related consulting projects.
  • Experience conducting indoor air quality assessments, moisture and mold investigations, asbestos and lead inspections, occupational exposure monitoring, or related services.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, AHERA, NIOSH, and applicable state and local regulations.
  • Strong technical writing, project management, and client communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Commitment to safety and a strong understanding of safe work practices.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard environmental data management and reporting tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as CIH, CSP, CMC, CAC, CDPH, AHERA Inspector, or Project Designer are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute building science and industrial hygiene projects, including indoor air quality assessments, moisture intrusion investigations, mold evaluations, asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, and occupational exposure assessments.
  • Conduct field investigations and collect environmental samples including air, bulk, surface wipe, and water samples utilizing industry-standard protocols.
  • Analyze field data, interpret laboratory results, and develop practical recommendations to address building performance, occupant health, and regulatory compliance concerns.
  • Prepare technical reports, work plans, corrective action recommendations, and client deliverables with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and client communications to ensure successful project execution.
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, laboratories, and field staff as needed.
  • Support business development efforts through proposal preparation, client relationship management, and identification of additional service opportunities.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance on field investigations, sampling methodologies, and report preparation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including industrial hygienists, environmental scientists, engineers, architects, contractors, and facility managers.
  • Actively pursue professional development opportunities and stay current on industry standards, regulations, and emerging building science and industrial hygiene practices.
