About The Position

ICF is seeking an Associate Program Specialist to provide program support for its utility program team in Maryland. This role involves coordinating the successful delivery of residential energy efficiency programs in Maryland by supporting program and portfolio managers with various tasks. These tasks include managing progress reports, data analysis, application review, forecasting, researching program enhancements, and client engagement. The Associate Program Specialist will also oversee the organization and evaluation of program processes, identify and engage with key stakeholders (particularly in the home energy audit sector), and coordinate with a team of energy efficiency experts. Effective interface with local staff and clients in the Maryland area is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or one year of related experience can substitute for one year of education)
  • 1+ years of experience in a professional work environment, preferably in energy, construction or administration
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening

  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Energy-related or continuous improvement professional certifications (BPI, RESNET, CEM, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Proficiency in developing and/or implementing data collection, tracking, and reporting processes (i.e., customer relationship management (CRM) efforts).
  • Experience selling and managing accounts related to any of the following equipment supply chains: HVAC, lighting, residential appliances, or water heating.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining multiple deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, detailed problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently towards final results.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles.
  • Critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths/weaknesses of alternative solutions and approaches to problems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal staff on projects including internal portfolio reviews and providing regular program status updates to internal program leads.
  • Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, distributors, and other stakeholders to drive participation in energy efficiency programs.
  • Monitor regulated performance metrics and collaborate with project managers and regional support staff on necessary adjustments to filed utility plans.
  • Review and edit client deliverables such as monthly progress reports, quarterly presentations, and semi-annual regulatory reports.
  • Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets and databases for internal tracking.
  • Support various internal staff with data management and analysis.
  • Handle and track issues raised by subcontractors, customers, and customer service representatives.
  • Collaborate with a multi-functional project team (technical and marketing specialists, including ICF internal staff and subcontractors) to ensure timely and professional completion of tasks and achievement of program goals.
  • Complete invoicing tasks and ensure timely submission of payments.
