Choose MITRE for a career with purpose — and help shape the future. MITRE Early Career Program (ECP) – Program Summary The MITRE Early Career Program (ECP) is a dynamic, immersive initiative designed to nurture future leaders by providing tailored on-the-job training and experiential learning. Targeting professionals with 0-3 years of experience, ECP guides participants from entry-level Associate roles to Senior Analyst positions, emphasizing personal and professional growth within a single department. Core Values Empower: ECP encourages participants to ask questions, take initiative, propose new ideas, and take ownership of their work. Culture: The program cultivates a collaborative, inclusive, and value-driven environment, enabling ECP members to introduce fresh perspectives and help shape MITRE’s organizational culture. Proactive: Participants are expected to anticipate challenges, seek improvements, and actively engage in their development alongside managers and senior leadership. Key distinction unlike traditional rotational programs, ECP is rooted in intentional, experience-based learning within one department. This approach fosters internal team development, long-term growth, and continuity, rather than cycling participants through multiple assignments. ECP is designed to empower emerging professionals, strengthen departmental teams, and build a foundation for sustained organizational success. Foundations Cohort-Based Model: Participants join as a cohort, benefiting from shared experiences, peer mentorship, and team-building opportunities. Initial Placements: Cohort members are placed across different centers (e.g., CIT, Intel, CECOM), focusing on core departmental responsibilities. Curated Training: Managers develop training modules complemented by hands-on examples to accelerate learning. Year 1 Group Project: Within the first six months, cohorts collaborate on a group project to identify and address inefficiencies, delivering actionable solutions.
