About The Position

BayCare Medical Group is seeking an Associate Program Director for the recently developed ACGME-accredited anesthesiology residency program. This role will lead the education and training of the next generation of anesthesiologists while fostering faculty development, mentoring, and leadership advancement. The Associate Program Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the ACGME application and management of the anesthesiology residency program, ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements. This includes developing and refining the curriculum, educational experiences, and assessment processes for residents. The position also involves fostering a culture of learning, mentorship, and professional development for residents and faculty, supporting faculty in integrating evidence-based teaching strategies, and acting as a liaison with the GME office and ACGME. Additionally, the role promotes faculty development initiatives, supports mentorship programs, and advocates for research development. The Associate Program Director will partner with the Medical Director on workforce planning, recruitment, and retention, and enhance departmental engagement and well-being. Financial and operational responsibilities include assisting in monitoring resource stewardship and developing financial and operational priorities. The role also entails maintaining an active clinical practice, providing high-quality patient-centered anesthesia care, exemplifying clinical excellence, and promoting efficient use of clinical resources.

Requirements

Board-certified anesthesiologist with strong clinical and healthcare administrative experience.
Experience in residency program leadership, GME administration, and academic medicine.
Completion of Anesthesiology residency/fellowship program

Master in Business Administration preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee all aspects of the ACGME application and management of anesthesiology residency program, ensuring compliance with all accreditation requirements.

Assist in monitoring resource stewardship, developing financial and operational priorities, and executing strategies to enhance efficiency.
Establish and maintain sound management and business discipline, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability.
Remain an active clinical practice, providing high-quality patient centered anesthesia care in a team-based collaborative environment.
Exemplify clinical excellence and lead by example setting the standard for professionalism, evidence-based practice and patient safety.
Promote efficient use of clinical resources including OR time, staffing, equipment, to enhance patient flow and reduce delays.
