About The Position

Provides classroom and clinical/laboratory instruction for students in the nursing major, including preparing content and assignments and evaluating students’ clinical and academic progress. Interacts with health team members at cooperating clinical agencies to facilitate student learning and promote quality nursing care for clients. Participates in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the total educational program.

Requirements

Significant progress toward an earned doctorate in Nursing or a related field, to be awarded by June 2022.
Master’s degree with a major in Nursing (MS or MSN).
At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience, as required by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations.

Nice To Haves

Previous teaching experience, preferably in a baccalaureate nursing program.
Illinois licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
Illinois licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) if teaching in a graduate program specialty area.
Certification in a population-specific focus, such as Family Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, if teaching in an APRN graduate program specialty area.
Communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, peers, and cooperating clinical agencies and provide an environment conducive to student learning.
