About The Position

The Lynn University Conservatory of Music invites applications for a full-time Associate Professor of Violin. The successful candidate will be an accomplished artist-teacher dedicated to training undergraduate and graduate performance majors for professional careers in music. Responsibilities include individual instruction, chamber music coaching, student recruitment, advising, and active participation in the artistic and academic life of the Conservatory.

Requirements

Demonstrated record of excellence as a performing violinist.
Strong commitment to student mentorship and artistic development.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
Proficiency with instructional technology, including learning management systems (such as Canvas), Microsoft Office, and virtual teaching platforms.
Appreciation for diverse learning styles and the ability to adapt instructional methods to meet student needs.
Demonstrated success preparing students for professional orchestra auditions, competitions, and graduate study.
Experience recruiting highly talented students.
Experience coaching chamber music.
Experience working in a highly selective conservatory or equivalent professional training environment.
Established professional network within the classical music community.
Master's degree in Violin Performance; equivalent professional experience preferred.
Successful experience teaching violin at the collegiate, pre-professional, or equivalent level preferred.
International or national performing career preferred.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and graduate violin performance majors through weekly private lessons.
Teach and lead weekly violin studio class.
Coach chamber music ensembles.
Prepare students for recitals, mock auditions, juries, competitions, graduate school auditions, and professional orchestra auditions.
Recruit outstanding violin students through auditions, outreach, masterclasses, and other recruitment activities.
Participate in admissions by reviewing applications, evaluating auditions, and interviewing prospective students.
Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, jury evaluations, and progress reports.
Respond promptly to student questions and concerns.
Participate in faculty meetings, committees, auditions, performances, commencement, and other university and Conservatory events.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to support the mission and artistic excellence of the Conservatory.
Maintain an active professional profile that enhances the reputation of the Conservatory.
Perform other duties as assigned.
