About The Position

The university is seeking an Associate Professor of Percussion (Tenure Track). This role requires an individual with a strong commitment to inclusion and equity in music and education. The ideal candidate will be an innovative performer and teacher with expertise in contemporary music and diverse percussion pedagogies. Requirements

• An earned MM in Music or the professional equivalent.
• Proven expertise as an innovative performer and teacher.
• Conversant with contemporary music.
• Skilled in a range of canonical and contemporary percussion and drum set pedagogies.
• A record of accomplishment in a wide array of ensemble and solo settings.
• Ability to attract, retain, and inspire diverse students across multiple areas of interest.
• Demonstrated ability as a performer and collaborator as an ensemble musician in varied settings, as a soloist.
• Experience in coaching and preparing sections in ensemble settings.
• Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
