About The Position

The University of Miami Business School’s Business Law Department is hiring a tenure-earning faculty member at the Associate or Full Professor rank, with a start date as early as June 1, 2027. The position includes teaching, research, and service responsibilities. The department welcomes scholars researching any area of law that affects business and the economy, with particular interest in work at the intersection of law and technology, finance, analytics, or entrepreneurship. Other areas of interest include intellectual property, privacy, and empirical legal studies relevant to business. Successful candidates must demonstrate research potential leading to publications in top law and/or business journals and effective university-level teaching. Experienced assistant and associate professors at law or business schools, as well as published fellows and postdoctoral scholars, are encouraged to apply. The Business Law Department’s faculty publish in leading flagship and specialty law reviews and journals, book chapters, and highly regarded peer-reviewed journals, and participate in the editorial process of several journals. The department offers an undergraduate Legal Studies major and Business Law minor, and teaches core business law and business communications courses in nearly all business degree programs. It also oversees the University’s joint JD-MBA program. Applicants should apply through the University of Miami Careers website and submit a curriculum vitae, research statement, teaching statement, up to three representative publications, and names of three references. Copies of all application materials should also be sent to [email protected]. Applications will be reviewed beginning immediately and accepted until the positions are filled.
