About The Position

Regent University’s School of Communication and the Arts invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Associate Professor of Communication in the Department of Journalism and Communication Studies. Tenure at appointment may be available for candidates who qualify. This faculty member will teach across the curriculum, with a special focus on graduate communication studies courses, and will coordinate the PhD program in partnership with the department chair and dean. Dissertation/thesis supervision and program direction of the PhD are part of this appointment’s assigned load rather than an addition to it. Workload is set with the department chair and dean to reflect the mix of teaching and doctoral supervision the faculty member carries.

Requirements

• PhD in communication or a related field by the start date
• Maintain an active research program engaged with current conversations in the discipline, whether social-scientific, computational, qualitative, or critical in method
• An established record of peer-reviewed scholarship
• Evidence of successful direction of doctoral and master’s students
• Facility with online instructional technology
• Demonstrated success teaching in both online and residential formats
• A willingness to embrace the School and University Identity and Mission statements
• Subscribe to a statement of Christian faith
