About The Position

Flex is seeking an Associate Production Supervisor in Milpitas, CA, to support its manufacturing operations. This role reports to the manager and is responsible for directing manufacturing operations within a shift or group of production lines to achieve volume, quality, and cost goals. The position operates on a shift of 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm PST, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

Typically requires a bachelor degree or equivalent experience in addition to 1 year of operations experience.
Demonstrates operations and technical skills and understanding of Flex functional standards.
Demonstrates a general knowledge of functional concepts and a rudimentary understanding of Flex policies and procedures.
Has awareness of the functional impact upon work processes and other functions.
Ability to operate telephones, data entry, office software including, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages and data base systems.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to collect data, establish facts, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

Leads the production of several processes/lines in a highly technical environment and is responsible for the line’s success.
Evaluates daily/regularly plant operating performance and advises on changes in operating conditions that will improve efficiencies and quality.
Leads a team of individual professionals (e.g., engineers/officers) to meet quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness requirements.
Troubleshoots and analyzes operational problems and advises on their resolution.
Guides regular discussions with operators to coach performance and improve operational understanding and capability.
Solicits and evaluates ideas for plant improvements and collaborates with qualified engineers to develop project proposals.
Provides technical and operational advice to project teams.
May act as principal interface between the operation team and the maintenance function.
Engages in training and coaching of junior operators.
Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply to meet customer requirements.
Initiates and participates in process development and cost improvement projects.
Assists in department budget planning and management of department expenses.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing individuals on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
Ensures compliance to manufacturing standards.
