About The Position

NBCUniversal is seeking an Associate Production Operations Specialist to join the Technology team in San Francisco, supporting NBC Sports Bay Area and California. This is a project/limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 12 months. The role involves primarily jib operation, stage managing, and A2 duties, with additional responsibilities as a camera operator, audio operator, robotic camera operator, and server playback for live and taped television broadcasts. This position is ideal for someone who loves a challenge, enjoys working with people, and wants to make a positive impact while being a part of a high-performing team at the leading edge of media technology.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in video production or live TV, preferably in an APC Production Environment
  • Experience with Ross Overdrive APC, Mira media playback, CalRec Assist or Jib Operations
  • Functional knowledge of newsroom computer systems, specifically iNews or Rundown Software equivalent
  • Must have strong oral/written communication skills, solid interpersonal skills, be able to work in a team, and be able to work accurately under pressure and deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated to take on new tasks to help better our production.
  • Aptitude and desire to be cross trained in other studio operations positions.
  • Must be willing to work in San Francisco, California.
  • Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours, and on weekends with short notice
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

Responsibilities

  • Understand and maintain studio operations SOPs for operational training, and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Performs other control room and studio related duties as assigned.
