About The Position

We are looking for an enthusiastic, growth-oriented Associate Product Owner to join our BIP Wealth Tech team and contribute to the development of BIP's innovative technology products. This is a support-focused, execution-oriented role, an excellent opportunity for a motivated early-career product professional who is eager to learn, comfortable with shifting priorities, and ready to grow within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. As an Associate Product Owner for BIP Wealth Tech, you will work hands-on with our platform team, which is responsible for our core CRM platform development, supporting backlog management, writing user stories and release notes, managing our Jira Service Desk, performing QA, and collaborating closely with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders. You'll be the face of our support queue, responding to users effectively and building trust through clear, timely communication. We're looking for someone who is personable and engaging in stakeholder conversations, eager to learn how to drive UI adoption through demonstrated value creation, and comfortable getting hands-on with integrating third-party systems into existing workflows. The ideal candidate brings curiosity, decisiveness, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex domain, including finance and wealth management concepts.

Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in product development, project coordination, or working within Agile/Scrum teams, specifically with software, platform, or web-based products.
  • Jira is the primary tool; Confluence is a plus. Experience with Rally or equivalent Agile platforms is acceptable.
  • Basic familiarity with the software development lifecycle is expected.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools, such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms, for prototyping, design exploration, or accelerating product workflows.
  • Comfortable working within complex domains, including wealth management, finance, or venture capital concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly to engineers, stakeholders, and teammates.
  • Friendly, curious, and emotionally intelligent. You build rapport easily, especially with engineers, are personable and engaging in stakeholder interviews and conversations, adapt to various personalities, and bring energy that improves team dynamics.
  • You take initiative, ask questions to fill knowledge gaps, and demonstrate resourcefulness.
  • Comfortable operating within shifting priorities and frequent pivots. Open to feedback and quick to adapt to you, you see ambiguity as a normal part of a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to gather and interpret information to support product decisions and backlog prioritization.
  • A bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent work experience is welcomed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in wealth management, fintech, or a related analytical or technology role will also be considered.
  • Exposure to or interest in building AI solutions that augment or enhance workflows is a plus.
  • You don't need to arrive as an expert, but you must be willing and able to learn quickly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are prioritized over deep analytics.
  • Exposure to or interest in integrating third-party systems into existing workflows is a plus; you don't need deep experience, but comfort learning how systems connect is important.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining and prioritizing the product backlog under the guidance of senior team members, ensuring the team is focused on delivering high-value work.
  • Write and refine clear, concise user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria; draft release notes to communicate product updates to stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and face of the support queue, owning day-to-day triage and resolution of service desk requests, maintaining a 24–48-hour SLA for responses and escalating as appropriate.
  • Actively participate in grooming and sprint planning sessions; support efforts to keep the backlog 1–2 sprints ahead with 'ready' work.
  • Perform acceptance testing and quality assurance on user stories to ensure features meet requirements and are free of critical defects before release.
  • Take ownership of small and medium-sized features end-to-end, from writing epics and stories as directed through to release.
  • Serve as a day-to-day liaison between engineering and business stakeholders; build strong working relationships, support UI adoption efforts, and keep communication clear.
  • Manage requirements across multiple systems, including third-party integrations into existing workflows, ensuring they are clear, traceable, and aligned across stakeholders and workstreams.
  • Participate in sprint reviews, gather and document stakeholder feedback to continuously improve the product and inform backlog prioritization.
  • Support the creation of process flows, user guides, and internal documentation as needed.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to build AI solutions that augment or enhance existing workflows, partnering with engineering to translate ideas into clear, actionable requirements.
