About The Position

The Associate Product Manager for Publishing supports the Publishing product development team by helping define, prioritize, and execute work that improves how Grainger publishes and manages category and product information changes across Grainger.com display, Search and other related product discovery experiences. You will partner closely with merchants, engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders to assess business impact, translate into actionable backlog items and execution plans, and help drive transparent, consistent prioritization decisions. Clear communication of options, blockers, tradeoffs to team members and stakeholders is critical for this role. The APM plays a key role in bringing structure to Publishing Product roadmap intake and triage, improving predictability for heavy category changes, improving team member operational execution when publishing, and ensuring the team responds to issues with the appropriate level of urgency and support. You will be accountable for helping deliver measurable business outcomes and improving the effectiveness, predictability, and scale of publishing over time.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience delivering impactful product features or solution
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Skilled in organizing work and improving team processes.
  • Brings new ideas and considers how emerging technologies may apply.
  • Uses data and metrics to support recommendations.
  • Can navigate change and help create clarity for others.

Responsibilities

  • Applies product strategy to feature-level work, translating needs into actionable backlog items.
  • Leverages success metrics to understand if product deliverables are having an impact, leveraging product and process understanding to analyze results and recommend next actions.
  • Presents options, blockers, and tradeoffs as it relates to execution in their product area to enable informed stakeholder and team member decisions.
  • Leverages qualitative and quantitative insights to guide solutions.
  • Challenges assumptions and draws inspiration from analogous problems to enhance solutions.
  • Facilitates cross-functional collaboration and alignment to deliver the best outcomes.
  • Prioritizes work to deliver maximum value quickly while managing and surfacing risks.
