Associate Product Engineer
About The Position
Book of the Month is seeking a dynamic Product Engineer to work across a broad range of product activities, from building front-end components to automating back-end renewals and creating agents. The role combines product, design, operations, and engineering, using tools including Claude to deliver outcomes across the business. As part of the Product Team, the Associate Product Engineer reports to the VP of Product and works with teams across the business to improve the process from specification to production. The work will evolve as business and customer needs change and as the company’s use of Claude matures. The compensation range is $100,000–$140,000.
Requirements
- Applicants should have at least one of the following backgrounds: a degree in computer science, 1–2 years of work experience as a Front-End Engineer, 1–2 years of work experience as a Product Manager, or 1–2 years of work experience as a UX/UI Designer.
- Excitement about using a variety of tools, including Claude, to solve business and customer problems.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code.
Responsibilities
- Use Claude to code design components and pages, reducing the cycle time from Figma to production.
- Partner with Member Services to improve customer response times through agent automations.
- Specify and create data views for stakeholders and conduct ad hoc data analysis.
- Own product features and experiments through ideation, specification, building, QA, deployment, and measurement.
- Improve the marketing design workflow by creating tools with Claude Code or other coding tools to support landing-page multivariate testing.
