Associate Producer

CBC/Radio-CanadaRegina, SK
Onsite

About The Position

CBC Saskatchewan is looking for an associate producer to join our team working on The Morning Edition, our morning current affairs radio show based in Regina. This is an on-site permanent fulltime role. Under the direction of the producer, you will chase and produce compelling radio interviews and stories that provide audiences with the news and community connection points they need to know each day. Your story pitches will reflect the breadth and complexity of the experience in Regina and the rest of Saskatchewan. You have an abundance of original ideas and great community contacts. You find creative ways to treat the news stories of the day on The Morning Edition. You will be keen to leave the building, and gather stories in the community. The program lives in and sounds like this place. You see the full audio, video and digital possibilities of your story pitches. You know how to gather, write, edit, and package content for current affairs radio – and you’re driven to expand the reach of the Morning Edition to audiences on digital, social and visual platforms. You will strive to broaden the range of perspectives, experiences and points of view reflected on our programming, especially those from people who have been traditionally underrepresented in the media. As someone with a deep working knowledge of Saskatchewan, you understand its political landscape and its resource-driven economy. Your work highlights how these issues affect the day-to-day lives of the people who live here. You also know what makes this place special. And you work to get your stories in front of our broad range of audiences, on radio, online, social, TV and streaming.
