About The Position

GIC is a leading global sovereign wealth fund with over 2,000 employees and a presence in 11 locations worldwide. The Private Equity division deploys capital using a long investment horizon, global presence, sector expertise, and skilled teams. The Special Opportunities Group focuses on defensive, uncorrelated investments and dislocation-triggered opportunities, including stressed/distressed debt, real assets, royalties, insurance, structured credit, and opportunistic special situations. This role offers the chance to research and develop new investment themes within a growing strategy, gaining exposure to fund investments, direct investments, and co-investments. Responsibilities span investment underwriting, selection, and relationship development with funds and companies.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of work experience at an investment bank, buy-side firm, or consulting firm
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Proficient in financial modelling
  • Responsible, proactive, and intellectually curious

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience and/or interest in the investment mandate is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all aspects of the underwriting process for direct investments and co-investments, including evaluating risk/return drivers, market dynamics, financial performance, management teams, capital structures, and deal terms.
  • Participate in all aspects of the underwriting process for fund investments, evaluating fund manager strategy, track record, capabilities, culture, and alignment.
  • Meet and appraise senior management at top investment firms.
  • Research and develop investment themes and strategy.
  • Monitor the macro environment and portfolio performance.
