About The Position

The Granite YMCA is seeking Associate Teachers to support its Early Learning team and deliver high-quality early childhood programs. The Associate Teacher assists with curriculum implementation and helps create a safe, engaging environment for young children. Working closely with Lead Teachers, the Associate Teacher supports daily classroom operations, mentors Assistant Teachers, and helps ensure a cohesive, developmentally appropriate program. The position is suited to someone passionate about early childhood education and ready to take on classroom leadership responsibilities.

Requirements

Must meet State of New Hampshire licensing requirements for Associate Teacher.
CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain them.
Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
Positive, patient, and nurturing approach to early childhood education.

Responsibilities

Support the classroom in alignment with YMCA standards and New Hampshire state licensing requirements.
Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
Build positive relationships with children and families and maintain confidentiality.
Lead classroom activities, including curriculum implementation, snack and meal routines, and setup and cleanup.
Guide and mentor Assistant Teachers to ensure a cohesive classroom experience.
Monitor attendance, headcounts, and behavior, and act as classroom lead when the Lead Teacher is absent.
Model and promote YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies by following YMCA procedures.
Collaborate with Lead Teachers and the Program Director on classroom operations and program quality.
Contribute to a positive, flexible, team-oriented culture.
