About The Position
Joseph’s Classic Market is seeking a Prepared Foods Associate to join their team. This role is central to the Prepared Foods Department, offering Chef-Prepared, restaurant-quality meals. The Associate will assist guests in selecting items, providing knowledgeable and attentive customer service, and contributing to convenient, high-quality dining experiences. The company emphasizes internal development, offering opportunities for growth in food presentation, service excellence, product knowledge, and department operations, with potential for leadership or specialized culinary roles.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic math and reading skills
- Strong attention to detail and visual presentation
- Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
- A passion for serving people
Nice To Haves
- Prior kitchen or food preparation experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service by offering product knowledge, answering questions, and making personalized suggestions
- Maintain product freshness through regular rotation and quality checks
- Restock and rotate displays to ensure visual appeal and freshness
- Prepare salads and pack out soups, pastas, sauces, and other prepared foods
- Plate, package, and present items to meet Joseph’s quality and appearance standards
- Accurately package, label, and price self-service items
- Follow food safety and sanitation protocols at all times
- Operate basic counter equipment, including scales, knives, and other counter equipment
- Assist with other tasks as assigned
