About The Position

What is the opportunity? A member of RBC Phillips, Hager & North Investment Counsel, the Associate Portfolio Manager works with experienced investment counsellors to construct customized investment strategies for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and charitable foundations. This long-term support role is designed to help investment counsellors implement a strategy, and manage and monitor the client portfolio on a regular basis. What will you do? Support the investment counsellor in managing client portfolios Assist in the construction of customized investment strategies, models, proposals, and action plans for existing and potential clients Implement action plans and proactively manage client portfolios to achieve or exceed performance goals Monitor and rebalance client portfolios to ensure they are managed in accordance with the investment policy statements and portfolio risk management strategies and policies Develop, document, and maintain a profile for each client including next steps to deepen and solidify the relationship Assist as required in preparing client meetings, including annual review meetings and meetings with potential clients Participate in analyst presentations on investment strategy and analysis Review and respond to risk management reports Proactively identify and review client portfolio management issues and recommend solutions to investment counsellors to resolve them What do you need to succeed? Must-have Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter designation Undergraduate degree (preferably in business, finance or economics) Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients and do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English and French speaking needs Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 apps, especially Excel Nice-to-have Graduate degree (preferably in business or finance) Financial planner diploma granted by the Institute of Financial Planning What’s in it for you? Requirements

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter designation
  • Undergraduate degree (preferably in business, finance or economics)
  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients and do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English and French speaking needs
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 apps, especially Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree (preferably in business or finance)
  • Financial planner diploma granted by the Institute of Financial Planning
