Requirements

  • Four (4) plus years’ experience working for a CA municipality.
  • Must possess knowledge of California planning, zoning, general plan, and development laws, including subdivision, coastal and environmental laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to the general public by providing information on Zoning and General Plan matters and development related case processing information.
  • Review General Plan Amendments, Specific Plan Amendments, re-zoning, variances, conditional use permits, design review, and other similar planning related applications.
  • Review buildings plans, parcel maps, and subdivision proposals for compliance with appropriate regulations.
  • Prepare, compile, organize, and present reports and recommendations for complex projects, with supervisor input, to the Development Review Committee, Planning Commission and City Council.
  • Conduct field evaluations and assessments and provide feedback and information clarification.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Perform all work consistent with BPR’s and clients’ policies and procedures.
  • Provide all services in an efficient, proactive, and client focused manner.
