About The Position

Wells Fargo is hiring an Associate Personal Banker (SAFE) for its National Branch in Salinas, California. This frontline role builds customer relationships and supports everyday banking needs through in-branch interactions, scheduled conversations, and proactive outreach. The banker learns about customers’ goals and connects them with appropriate banking products, services, and digital tools to help them manage their finances. The role supports account openings, service requests, and credit applications while collaborating with branch teammates to provide a consistent, high-quality customer experience. Success depends on relationship building, sound judgment, and balancing service with growth. Wells Fargo provides training and coaching to support career growth and mobility. The position includes branch operations support, cash handling, and teller-line activities, alongside customer banking work. The schedule includes Saturdays. SAFE registration is required at employment; Wells Fargo initiates the process after the start date. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience interacting with customers, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays.

Loan Originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements and comply with Wells Fargo policies, including standards related to financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in financial services or a highly regulated, customer-facing role, with comfort following structured processes and meeting accuracy and service expectations.
Experience building trust-based customer relationships through active listening, follow-up, and consistent engagement.
Comfort initiating outreach by calls, emails, or other channels to strengthen relationships and identify ways to support customer needs.

Responsibilities

Lead discovery-driven conversations to understand customer needs and connect customers with relevant banking products, services, and solutions.
Identify opportunities, promote solutions, and make appropriate referrals to meet customer and business goals.
Support everyday banking needs, including new account openings, service requests, and credit applications.
Perform cash handling and teller-line activities, accurately processing transactions while maintaining compliance and operational standards.
Use and adopt digital tools and technologies to enhance the customer experience and support changing banking needs.
Deliver accurate, compliant service while exercising sound judgment within defined risk controls.
Collaborate with branch teammates to coordinate handoffs to licensed bankers or other specialists.
Flex between cash handling and customer banking activities to support branch operations and account support.
Follow applicable risk and compliance programs, policies, and procedures; identify, escalate, and remediate issues as appropriate.
