About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking an Associate Personal Banker (SAFE) to join its National Branch in Citadel Mall, Charleston, South Carolina. This frontline role builds customer relationships through in-branch interactions, scheduled conversations, and proactive outreach. The banker learns about customers’ goals and connects them with appropriate banking products, services, and digital tools to help them manage their finances. The role supports account openings, service requests, and credit applications while collaborating with branch teammates to deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience. Success requires relationship-building, sound judgment, and balancing customer service with business growth. Wells Fargo provides training and coaching to support career growth and mobility. The position also includes cash handling and teller-line activities, digital banking support, and compliance with operational and risk standards. The schedule includes Saturdays. SAFE registration is required at employment; Wells Fargo initiates the process after the start date. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience interacting with customers, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education, or a combination.
Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays.
SAFE registration is required at the time of employment; Wells Fargo initiates the registration process after the start date.
Loan Originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements and comply with Wells Fargo policies related to financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background.
A credit report may be reviewed, excluding credit score, and additional ongoing screening may apply.

Prior experience in financial services or a highly regulated customer-facing role, with comfort following structured processes and meeting accuracy and service expectations.

Responsibilities

Conduct discovery-driven conversations to understand customer needs and connect them with relevant banking products, services, and solutions.
Identify opportunities, promote solutions, and make appropriate referrals to support branch growth and customer and business goals.
Support everyday banking needs, including new account openings, service requests, and credit applications.
Handle cash and perform teller-line activities, accurately processing transactions while maintaining compliance and operational standards.
Use and adopt digital tools and technologies to enhance the customer experience and support evolving banking needs.
Deliver accurate, compliant service and exercise sound judgment within defined risk controls.
Coordinate with branch teammates and make seamless handoffs to licensed bankers or other specialists.
Flex between cash handling and customer banking activities, including account openings and ongoing account support.
Follow applicable risk and compliance programs, policies, and procedures; identify, escalate, and help remediate issues.
