Under general supervision by a Registered Nurse (RN), the Patient Care Technician is responsible for providing basic nursing care to both in-patients and out-patients within their assigned area(s). This role involves collecting and reporting patient information to the supervising RN and completing all necessary patient care related documentation. Patient Care Technicians may be assigned to Cardiopulmonary, Medical/Surgical/Oncology, or a Resource Float Pool, where they provide basic respiratory, cardiology, and nursing care, and may assist with orthopedic devices for adult and geriatric patients.
