About The Position

Under general supervision by a Registered Nurse (RN), the Patient Care Technician is responsible for providing basic nursing care to both in-patients and out-patients within their assigned area(s). This role involves collecting and reporting patient information to the supervising RN and completing all necessary patient care related documentation. Patient Care Technicians may be assigned to Cardiopulmonary, Medical/Surgical/Oncology, or a Resource Float Pool, where they provide basic respiratory, cardiology, and nursing care, and may assist with orthopedic devices for adult and geriatric patients. The position is with Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center, part of Providence, which emphasizes a culture of patient-focused, whole-person care built on understanding, commitment, and mutual respect.

Requirements

• For hires after 10/31/16: Completion of a CNA program, Or Completion of first semester nursing program, Or EMT program completion
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
• Experience with basic data entry

Nice To Haves

• EKG Training
• 1 year of acute patient care experience, Or 6 months experience in a direct patient care environment

Responsibilities
