Patient Care Tech - MedSurg
About The Position
Join the dynamic Med-Surg Team at Piedmont Walton. This 24-bed Medical-Surgical unit provides a fast-paced, hands-on environment for caring for a wide range of adult patients, including those with orthopedic needs, general and bariatric surgeries, cardiac/telemetry monitoring, and complex medical conditions. The unit maintains RN-to-patient ratios typically ranging from 1:5–6 and PCTs from 1:6–9, fostering meaningful, team-based patient care. Team members will gain valuable clinical experience with frequent opportunities to perform IV starts, assist with bedside procedures, provide wound care, manage NGTs and chest tubes, administer blood transfusions, and care for post-op, central line, and colostomy patients. Nurses and PCTs may also float to assist with needs across the hospital, offering a great opportunity for well-rounded clinical growth and collaboration.

- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
Nice To Haves
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 1 year of patient care experience
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
- Certification from a Patient Care Technician program
Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, demonstrating competency with treatments, procedures and equipment appropriate to the clinical setting and hospital policy, under the supervision of licensed clinical staff.
