About The Position

Immanuel Baptist Church is seeking a dedicated and passionate Associate Pastor to oversee and serve together with all Next Generation Ministry team members and leaders (kindergarten through 12th grade) and to serve on the Worship team. The ideal candidate will have a heart for nurturing the spiritual growth of children and youth and will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that engage and inspire the next generation and will help lead worship on Sunday morning.

Meet the qualifications for Elder/Pastor as listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9, & 1 Peter 5.
Must be willing to Affirm and teach in accordance with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
Ordination in the SBC or a desire to pursue ordination.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Previous experience in children’s or youth ministry.
A passion for leading worship vocally and proficiently plays one instrument, preferably acoustic guitar.
Experience with worship technology - live stream production, sound mixing, presentation software, and lighting schemes.
Ability to work collaboratively with church staff, volunteers, and families.
A passion for working with children and youth and helping them grow in their faith.
Pass a criminal background check.
Be a Mandatory Reporter of known or suspected abuse or neglect to authorities.

Responsibilities

Seek to equip Next Generation ministry and Worship ministry team members and leaders in accordance with Ephesians 4:11-12.
Work together with Next Gen ministry and Worship ministry team members and leaders to provide oversight and supervision.
Develop and implement age-appropriate programs and activities that promote spiritual growth and discipleship.
Lead weekly bible studies on Wednesday nights and/or Sunday nights or other appropriate settings.
Pursue students inside and outside of the church for the purposes of spiritual development and discipleship.
Be active in the local school system for the purposes of service and outreach.
Recruit, train, and support ministry team members and leaders.
Collaborate with Next Gen ministry and Worship ministry team members and leaders to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to ministry.
Plan and coordinate with ministry team members and leaders, special events, retreats, summer camps, VBS, and mission trips.
Provide pastoral care and counseling to ministry team members, leaders, children, youth, and their families.
Communicate regularly with ministry team members, leaders, parents, and guardians.
Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all children and youth.
Follow all guidelines set by the Child Protection Policy.
Be active, present, and engaged in the overall life of the church.
Work alongside the Senior Pastor for the overall growth of the Church.
Fill the pulpit on Sunday mornings when assigned by the Senior Pastor.
Help to administer the church ordinances as assigned by the SP (Baptism & Communion).
Attend monthly prayer meetings on the last Sunday of the month.
Attend IBC Council Meetings and Business Meetings.
Follow all IBC Policy and By Laws & Guidelines.
Maintain regular office hours.
Other projects as assigned by the SP.
