About The Position

The Associate Worship Pastor serves in partnership with and under the leadership of the Worship Pastor to support the overall worship ministry by leading Sunday services; shepherding the congregation with musicality, exhortation, Scripture and prayer through the liturgy of Doxa Church. This role will work closely with ministry staff toward ministry endeavors and will provide consistent pastoral care and support for worship team volunteers, helping them grow towards spiritual maturity. This role will also partner alongside the pastoral team to shepherd the church at large through various pastoral ministry responsibilities.

• Membership at Doxa Church with full alignment to its doctrine, mission, and worship philosophy.
• Demonstrates humility, loyalty, integrity, flexibility, attention to detail, confidentiality, and a servant’s heart.
• Able to understand, support, and implement the vision and initiatives of Doxa Church with strong organizational, clerical, computer, and interpersonal skills.
• Capable of leading, training, and discipling volunteers in life and ministry.
• Meets the biblical qualifications for an elder (1 Tim. 3:1–7; Titus 1:5–9; 1 Pet. 5:1–4).
• Skilled in vocal and musical leadership, including leading contemporary worship bands.
• Brings passion, initiative, and commitment to the mission of the worship ministry.
• Possesses a teachable, humble, and accountable spirit.

Responsibilities

• Lead worship for Sunday services up to 3 times a month.
• Shepherd from the stage through song, exhortation, scripture, and prayer.
• Fill in for the Worship Pastor when absent.
• Lead worship for non-normative auxiliary ministry opportunities (other department events, All Church Prayer & Worship, special events)
• Shepherd worship team volunteers as you are going through rehearsals, green room time on Sundays, one on ones throughout the month, and worship team nights.
• Train, equip, and encourage our volunteer worship leaders to excel in the work of the ministry.
• Engage in pastoral responsibilities alongside the pastoral team towards churchwide shepherding. Examples may include but are not limited to membership interviews, counseling cases, teaching and equipping, administering sacraments, and monthly pastor meetings.
• Attend department and staff meetings as schedule allows or when needed.
• Future equipping and sending GCC leaders for the sake of great commission expansion.
