About The Position

New York Life is seeking leaders for its Associate Partner Program in the Greater DC General Office. This program is designed for individuals ready to advance their financial careers into management. Participants begin as financial professionals, gaining practical field experience. Successful completion of the program's requirements can lead to a transition into a management role as a Partner. New York Life provides a comprehensive two-year training program, marketing support, and assistance with prospecting and technical aspects. Participants will work alongside experienced advisors and managers to develop a client base and a long-term strategy. The role involves identifying client financial goals and offering solutions across a range of products including life insurance, annuities, mutual funds, and securities. After meeting program requirements, there is a transition into management, including a six-month Associate Partner Training Program focused on business acumen and expertise. The management role involves hiring, training, developing, and leading a team of agents and financial advisors, utilizing software systems for personnel development tracking.

Requirements

  • Goal-oriented, highly motivated, and seeking a rewarding and challenging career
  • Working knowledge of different cultural markets is helpful
  • Required knowledge and experience working in the insurance or financial services field (3+ years preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in sales and sales management is preferred
  • Recruiting experience is not required, but a plus
  • Spanish, Korean, or other language fluency is beneficial
  • Life and Health license, SIE, Series 6/63/7/65/24 are preferred but not immediately required
  • Salesforce experience preferred but not required
  • MBA preferred, but previous leadership experience can replace the MBA requirement

Responsibilities

  • Develop a personalized, long-term strategy and gain hands-on experience while assisting agents and financial advisers in identifying and achieving their financial goals
  • Determine financial solutions for clients within a wide breadth of relevant products and services, such as life insurance, fixed and variable annuities, mutual funds, securities, and more
  • Transition into management as a Partner once you have achieved the program requirements
  • Complete a six-month Associate Partner Training Program to further your business acumen and expertise
  • Hire, train, develop, and lead a team of successful agents and financial advisors
  • Use software systems to track and monitor the development of personnel in a digital environment
