About The Position

Supervise and provide athletic training services for Women’s Basketball. Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Associate AD - Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer and Assistant Director of Sports Medicine. Must be a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer and be able to be licensed by the State of Mississippi. Salary Grade : 15 Please see Staff Compensation Structure for salary ranges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 3 years (Associate Athletic Trainer) or 5 years (Sr Associate Athletic Trainer) of Professional/Collegiate Division I athletic program as a certified athletic trainer.
  • Must be certified as a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer and be able to be licensed by the State of Mississippi.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the athletic training needs for the Women’s Basketball Team. This includes direct team and sport coverage.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the athletic training room. Ensure proper use of equipment and facilities by student-athletes, including adherence to athletic training room time schedules and proper operating procedures.
  • Assist the Senior Associate AD - Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer and Assistant Director of Sports Medicine with the prevention and care of student-athlete injuries and illnesses.
  • Maintain computerized health/injury records on supervised student-athletes.
  • Serve as liaison between student-athletes and the team physician. This includes ensuring compliance with team physician instructions.
  • Obtain required continuing education requirements to fulfill state and BOC certification maintenance.
  • Ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team with the strength and conditioning, sports science, sports nutrition, and sport psychology/counseling staffs.
  • Supervisory responsibilities for athletic training fellows and student athletic trainers.
