McGill University's Department of Family Medicine is seeking to hire a full-time Associate or Full Professor (Tenure Track) in conjunction with a Canada Research Chair (CRC) Tier 1. This position is a special priority call for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis scholars, aligning with the department's commitment to fostering Indigenous leadership in health sciences and academic excellence. The successful candidate will integrate Indigenous knowledges, methodologies, histories, traditions, languages, or systems of laws and governance into their research and teaching, potentially employing community-based participatory research (CBPR) methods. The department is home to a diverse community of primary health care professionals and scholars dedicated to population health, training graduate students, residents, medical students, and other health care professionals. Their mission includes promoting innovation in practice, developing research and scholarly activity, advancing curriculum innovation and education research, and engaging in international and global health activities. The department is involved in various scholarly pursuits, including health services and policy, knowledge translation, public health, medical education, global health, information technology, qualitative methods, clinical care, and biostatistics. They are methodological leaders in participatory and mixed-methods research with extensive collaborations. The department's clinics serve a large patient base and provide opportunities to bridge research, education, and community health. The CRC Tier 1 holder is expected to lead innovative research programs, train the next generation of scholars, and contribute to community outreach.
