About The Position

Boeing St. Louis is seeking Associate or Experienced Fatigue & Fracture Analysis Engineers to support current and emerging aircraft programs as part of the Air Dominance division in Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS). Engineers will contribute to a wide range of current and evolutionary aircraft and weapons systems across various divisions/business units, including: Air Dominance (Phantom Works, F-15, F/A-18, MQ-25A, T-7A), Mobility, Surveillance, & Bombers (777X), Space Intelligence & Weapons Systems (Harpoon, JDAM, SDB, SLAM-ER), and Boeing Global Services businesses.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
Level 2: 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
2+ years of working with fatigue and damage tolerance analysis
1+ years of experience with Spectrum Generation
1+ years of experience full-scale testing and/or other structural and material testing plans
1+ years of experience with application of classical stress intensity solutions
1+ years of experience with PATRAN/NASTRAN, StressCheck, NASGRO, AFGROW
Experience writing technical reports
Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.
An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Some positions may require the ability to obtain Special Program Access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Experience with MIL-STD-1530 (Aircraft Structural Integrity Program) and its requirements
Experience working on MRB (Materials Review Board) activities related to aircraft structures

Responsibilities

Lead development, integration and documentation of structural fatigue and fracture requirements.
Verify structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
Lead development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Define and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
Support in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.
Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
Plan and execute tasks within constraints imposed by internal and external customer schedules.
Work under minimal direction.
