About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This role involves ordering, dispensing, repairing, and adjusting eyewear and contact lenses. The Associate Optician will provide excellent customer service and assist customers with the selection of eyewear. Training will be provided to acquire or enhance entry-level optical and retail patient service skills necessary to order, dispense, and execute basic repairs and adjustments of eyeglasses and contact lenses.

Requirements

• High school graduate is preferred.
• Must have excellent interpersonal/human relations and sales skills.
• Basic Life Support Certification.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of contact lens procedures and care, current brands and solutions.
• Knowledge of eye wear fitting, styles, and materials is preferred.
• Previous experience in optical or contact lens field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Order, dispense, repair and adjust eye wear and contact lenses.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with the selection of eye wear.
• Train to acquire or already competently command entry level optical and retail patient service skills necessary to order, dispense, and execute basic repairs and adjustments of eyeglasses and contact lenses.
