About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This role involves performing preliminary screening examinations and/or tests to facilitate diagnosis and treatment by the provider, and assisting the physician with procedures and patient care. The Associate Ophthalmic Assistant will collect subjective and objective ophthalmic data from the patient or caregiver and communicate this data to the doctor.

Requirements

  • High School graduate is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support Certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Will provide training and education for required skills.
  • Previous health care experience or training in ophthalmology, optometry, and/or optical office preferred.

  • Perform preliminary screening examinations and/or tests to facilitate diagnosis and treatment by the provider.
  • Assist the physician with procedures and care of the patient.
