About The Position

This position is responsible for learning all aspects of a Production facility by working with the Team Members to learn how to promote a safe working environment and produce a quality product in a timely manner. Responsibilities include observing and learning how to ensure the area is running and producing at the greatest capacity possible while maintaining high quality. Will observe and learn how to work with Maintenance and other resources to ensure the equipment is working properly and meets government regulations and will learn to perform first aid when the nurse is not present. Will help the supervisors and our managers whenever called upon and perform any other duties as the need arises. Observing and learning the above duties will prepare the trainee for the responsibility of being a supervisor over a specific area as assigned. Trainee must understand the interactions between Accounting Human Resources Food Safety and Quality Assurance and Production.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in live swine production; a complete knowledge of animal flow, processing, ventilation, feeding, and vaccination protocols.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
  • Travel: A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Biosecurity: The jobsite is a biosecurity environment, which requires showering before entering the facility and could require multiple showers during the workday. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any other porcine species. The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times.
  • Physical Requirements: Must use safe lifting techniques. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk, or hear. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Personal Protective Equipment Required: Team Member is expected to follow the required safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
